Dr. Kathryn Larsson O.D.
Optometrist
EDUCATION: After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class in Auburn, CA, Dr. Larsson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Davis.
In May 1989, Dr. Larsson received her doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She had an externship at Castle AFB in Atwater, CA where she received vast experience inpatient care.
After graduation, she traveled to Mombasa, Kenya where she volunteered at the Lighthouse for Christ Eye Centre for one year. Here, Dr. Larsson developed a passion for international eye care for the poor.
PROFESSIONAL: Dr. Larsson’s interests are comprehensive primary care, including difficult contact lens fits, binocular vision, LASIK co-management, dry eyes, eye diseases, ocular infections, foreign body removals, diabetic retinal exams, and glaucoma management. With my father and both Grandfathers being Navy veterans during Vietnam and WWII, I am honored to serve veterans of all branches northern California with their disability benefits exams.
COMMUNITY: She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists International and enjoys using her skills to help the poor with their vision in third-world countries. So far, Dr. Larsson has taken trips to Kenya, the Fiji Islands, India, Nepal, El Salvador and Pakistan.
Dr. Larsson is happily married to her husband, Deron, and together they have five beautiful children. She is actively involved in the numerous activities of her children and with her church. She enjoys reading, video games, camping, and cross-stitching.
She can perform eye exams in Spanish and English and knows several words and phrases in Assyrian, Portuguese, Swahili, and Fijian Hindi.
Sophia
Office Manager/Optician
Our Office Manager/ Optician Sophia has been a part of our team since November of 2022. She loves any opportunity to serve patients, and to provide them with a fashionable fit for their frames. In her free time she enjoys camping, taking trips to the beach, good conversation, and cheese. She is currently pursuing further education in counseling, and hopes to have her certification in the next 2 years.
Madelynn
Front Desk Receptionist
Madelynn has been our hard working receptionist since August of 2024. She is kind, animated, and will greet everyone with a friendly smile. She likes to spend her free time enjoying nature, good company, or a good book. Her hobbies include playing piano, and baking, and she is currently pursuing a greater knowledge in music theory.
